Featured Welding & Repair Projects
Project 1 — Combine Header Structural Reinforcement
The Problem
A local farm experienced frame fatigue in a combine header, leading to misalignment and increased wear during harvest.
Assessment
We inspected welds, measured deflection, and identified stressed gusset points susceptible to cracking.
Solution
Removed affected sections, prepared surfaces, and applied full-penetration MIG welds with reinforcement plates and strategically placed gussets. We used AR wear plate on contact zones and preheated thicker sections to reduce thermal shock.
Outcome
The header returned to operation with restored alignment and improved durability. The reinforcement reduced vibration-induced cracking and extended the service life through another harvest season.
Project 2 — Loader Bucket Lip Rebuild and Wear Plate Replacement
The Problem
A loader bucket's cutting edge was worn and cracked, compromising loading efficiency and safety.
Assessment
Measured lip thickness and inspected for underlying structural corrosion.
Solution
Welded in a new cutting edge using high-strength filler metal, replaced worn wear plates, and reinforced mounting points with properly blended welds to avoid stress risers.
Outcome
Bucket performance was restored to factory-level strength, improving loading cycles and reducing spillage. The repair saved the customer from purchasing a new bucket.
Project 3 — Custom Hay Spear Fabrication for Skid Steer
The Problem
A farmer needed an affordable, heavy-duty hay spear adapter for a skid steer to efficiently handle larger bales.
Assessment
Determined load requirements, shear stresses, and mounting specifications for the skid steer attachment plate.
Solution
Designed a heavy-duty spear with a tapered point, reinforced mounting plate, and replaceable spear tip. Fabricated using thick AR plate and high-yield steel with MIG welding and precision fitment.
Outcome
The custom spear increased handling capacity, held up under repeated loading, and cut loading times — a direct operational efficiency gain.
Project 4 — Tractor Hitch Repair and Reinforcement
The Problem
A tractor’s rear hitch had cracked due to repeated lateral stresses while pulling heavy implements.
Assessment
Inspected hitch geometry and associated mounting hardware.
Solution
Removed cracked sections, welded in new hitch plates, reinforced the assembly with box tubing and gussets, and replaced worn mounting pins with precision-machined replacements.
Outcome
Restored towing capability with increased strength and reduced risk of future fractures. The new design distributed load across a larger area, extending longevity.
Project 5 — Grain Cart Reinforced Tongue and Coupler Repair
The Problem
A grain cart tongue developed cracks around the coupler weld area, jeopardizing transport safety.
Assessment
Identified fatigue cracks and measured stress-flow paths.
Solution
Fully machined the coupler seating area, welded using proper prep and root gap, and added reinforcing plates to distribute stress. Employed post-weld grinding and protective coatings to minimize corrosion.
Outcome
Structural integrity restored and hauling safely resumed for busy grain-moving operations.
Frequently Asked Questions
How soon can you respond to emergency mobile welding requests?
Response depends on current workload and distance. Call (402) 337-1010 with the urgency and location; we will prioritize critical harvest or safety-related issues.
Do you accept walk-ins for archery service?
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended for tuning and extensive repairs to ensure we allocate time for thorough work.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. For large projects, payment terms may be discussed during the estimate process.
Do you provide written estimates?
Yes. We provide written estimates for most projects, especially for larger welds and fabrications.
